Chime and Discord is a dystopian young adult novel in verse.
Last year, I began this story before Trump was re-elected, before my first novel Ash & Feather was completely finished and published this April. Typically, one of the first steps of writing a novel is to finish the manuscript before receiving feedback on it. Although Chime and Discord is not finished, I decided to post sections in weekly podcast installments. I couldn’t wait for it to be finished before putting it out into the world.
Chime and Discord is a near-future dystopian story, where the people’s lives are disrupted and near-destroyed by local and governmental anti-democratic forces. After Trump began his second term in January and initiated countless authoritarian acts, I decided to put Chime and Discord into the world.
This story is a source of solace and hope for listeners of all ages with the story of Ti, a seventeen year old living in a world fallen apart, whose hopes depend on what's hatching from a giant egg.
